Tour to Cairo

Cairo:

 About Cairo:

The biggest city in both Africa and the Arab world is Cairo. Additionally, it is among the most fascinating cities in the world to visit. Since more than a millennium, Cairo has served as the capital of Egypt. It is also the most significant political, commercial, cultural, and economic centre in the region.

The Origins and Development of Cairo:

Iunu, an ancient town created during the rule of the Old Kingdom and a sacred city referenced in numerous ancient Egyptian history documents, was the very establishment that was ever founded in Cairo. Currently, Eastern Cairo is home to the ruins of this historic settlement.

The renowned Babylon Fortress was constructed in the second century AD by the Romans after they had conquered Egypt. After that, in the fourth century AD, the fort was rebuilt by the Roman Emperor Arcadius. In actuality, the castle is still present-day Coptic Cairo.

But Cairo, or Al Qahera, as we know it now, was founded by the Fatimids. Cairo was formed in 969 AD when the Fatimids, under the leadership of their Sultan Al Moez Le Din Allah and army commander Gawhar El Siqly, seized power in Egypt. The famed defensive walls and gates of Cairo were built by Badr Al Gamaly, the new Fatimid army commander, 100 years later.

Even after many dynasties, sultans, and kings had come and gone, Cairo remained Egypt's capital.

Where Cairo Is Located:

At the mouth of the River Valley, just before the Nile Delta, is Cairo. Cairo was able to perform its duty perfectly thanks to this advantageous location. The three governorates of Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia are together referred as as Greater Cairo.

Around 230 kilometres to the southwest of Alexandria, 713 to the north of Luxor, 875 to the north of Aswan, and 453 to the northeast of Hurghada are where Cairo is situated.

What fun activities and sights are there in Cairo?
